2008 Roadster iPod Cable Installation

Photos showing the disassembly required to run a new iPod cable in the 2008 Tesla Roadster. The original JVC unit runs one cable to a collection of devices stored in a polystyrene insert at the bottom of the area behind the left dash/console piece. From there, the iPod support module runs a custom iPod cable under the driver side carpet and into the bottom of the lower center console piece. Replacing that cable requires removing the left console pieces, the driver's seat and the entire center console.

With the console piece removed, you can see where the two 3 mm socket head screws were attached. I've put them back in place to make sure they don't get lost. The external components for the JVC are installed in a foam insert at the bottom of the opening shown here.
