2008 Roadster iPod Cable Installation

Photos showing the disassembly required to run a new iPod cable in the 2008 Tesla Roadster. The original JVC unit runs one cable to a collection of devices stored in a polystyrene insert at the bottom of the area behind the left dash/console piece. From there, the iPod support module runs a custom iPod cable under the driver side carpet and into the bottom of the lower center console piece. Replacing that cable requires removing the left console pieces, the driver's seat and the entire center console.

With the driver's seat and center console removed, you can roll back the carpet on the floor, uncovering and releasing the cloth flaps that help anchor the side carpet. With the floor carpet rolled out of the way, it's much easier to remove (and later reinstall) the side carpet piece.
